Drunk driving is a common cause of accidents and accident fatalities across the US. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the crash at Za's. Here are 5 tips to help you avoid any chance of causing a DUI accident:
- Always have a plan for transportation if you are planning to be out and drinking alcoholic beverages
- Have a backup plan for if your first plan doesn't work (for example, know the bus routes if you can't get an Uber, Lyft or a cab
- Don't drive buzzed, which is just as bad as driving when you are more intoxicated
- Install the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's free app, SaferRide, which is a simple, easy to use app that helps you get home safely
With so many ways to avoid drunk driving, there's no excuse. With a little extra preparation, or perhaps the temporary inconvenience of waiting for a cab, you could be saving your life and the lives of others.
